DESCRIPTION: Matthijs Bras, Rotterdam, Netherlands, tall clock, 8 days, time and Dutch bell strike, weight driven movement in a mahogany case with crotch mahogany door and base, brass cartouche revealing pendulum, paw feet, scalloped arched hood with carved center element and brass capitals on columns flanking hood and cast brass finials. The brass dial has a silvered chapter ring, cast brass spandrels, moon phase, half boss with maker's signature, circa late 18th century
CONDITION: the clock is in very good condition including original finish. There are two capitals missing on the columns flanking the hood. There is minor flaking to the moon phase disc. There is some tarnish and wear to the silvering on dial. Brass finials replaced as this case would have had the typical Dutch finials with Atlas holding the world flanked by horn blowing angels.
